Secrets of the Living Dolls on Channel 4 was about the world of “female masking”

Joel the bartender revealed his alter ego “Jessie” It was Epiphany last night, and here’s my revelation: there’s nowt so queer as folk, and they are an endless source of semi-prurient psychosexual documentaries. But it doesn’t mean we want or have to watch them.
Secrets of the Living Dolls on Channel 4 was about the world of “female masking” – men who dress in rubber second skins from head to toe in order to look like life-sized female dolls.
We started in Orange County, California, naturally. Robert, a 70 year-old, showed off his new “femskin”. He had been adding his own hair clippings to make the vagina more realistic. When he looked in the mirror at “Sherry”, he felt he had taken possession of a more beautiful woman than he could otherwise hope to date. “It’s very difficult to date when you have this to come home to. Crazy, huh?” Yes.

Barbie Ramos, matriarch of the Florida family manufacturer which has cornered the market in the rubber skins and face masks for this community, was shown having an internet video call with “Sophie” in the UK. Meanwhile in Essex, Joel the bartender was revealing his alter ego “Jessie” to Phil and Claire, his closest friends. Phil looked traumatised and Claire was choking back tears.
